Stay at Home - Card Game
As we continue to navigate the realities of a post-pandemic world, DayOne took on the unique challenge of designing a card game that not only entertains but also reflects the experiences we’ve all shared during COVID-19. Faced with the challenge of encapsulating the quirks and comforts of home life into a card game, DayOne embraced the opportunity to design artwork that is visually exciting and playful.
Our objective was to create a card game that not only entertains but also sparks conversation and laughter, reflecting the shared experiences of life indoors and this poignant period of our lifetime. The game needed to resonate with families and friends of all ages, providing a playful escape from the routine.
From Concept to Completion: A Design Success Story
Collaborating closely with two young entrepreneurs, we transformed initial concepts into a fully realised card game. Each card was meticulously designed to ensure visual appeal and ease of play, enhancing the overall gaming experience. Illustrated impeccably by Daisy Watson, we sought to inject some humour into this game, by using edgy and bold illustrations, which are bound to be familiar to all adults who lived through those unprecedented times.
Everlasting Entertainment: A Design Triumph
The Stay at Home card game was a new project for us, challenging us with something we’ve never done in the Studio before and pushing us to dive into new creative territories. With 5* reviews on Amazon, the opportunity to work alongside these talented entrepreneurs equipped us with valuable insights into game design which paid off with consumer success.
